Open Position:
Summer 2025 Marketing & Communications Intern
Joe’s Music Mill is a not-for-profit musical instrument lending library dedicated to providing access to musical instruments to everyone who would benefit from playing them.
We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic individual to contribute to our marketing and communications activities.
This position is funded through the Canada Summer jobs program.
DUTIES
As part of a creative team, within an established brand strategy, write and coordinate content for a wide range of communication requirements, including:
website and online communications
multi-media/video productions
marketing collateral
press releases
testimonials and case studies
exhibits and displays
promotional items
advertising in all media
Organize materials for (and occasionally attend) Joe’s Music Mill booths at festivals and events to promote Joe’s Music Mill in Kingston
Co-ordinate talent, props and locations for events.
Attend and photograph/video events when required
Provide support for designated projects as required such as:
conducting research (ie. online /media/music venue checks etc.)
contribute to creative brainstorming sessions
regular reporting on status of projects
organized filing and storage of background information.
Assist in handling technology issues for Joe’s Music Mill marketing initiatives (web marketing, social network media management, mailing lists, e-mail broadcasts, etc.)
Requirements
Reside in the Kingston/Frontenac area for the term of the position to attend event
Be between 15-30 years of age at the start of the funded position
Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom refugee status has been granted/conferred
Note: International students, and those who are here in Canada on work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.
$17.20 hourly / 35 hours per week
