Help make a difference

Make a donation

The Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library (Joe’s Music Mill) is a not-for-profit organization and registered charity (#84662-6877-RR0001) that helps to spread the joy and beneficial value of music in the Kingston community, promote music education, and make it accessible for all.

Joe’s Music Mill is working to bring music education and mentorship with the support of partnerships to schools and community programs.

The cost of instruments can often be a barrier to music education, but through our generous donors, Joe’s Music Mill is able to loan instruments to community members of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds.

Your Donation Matters

Joe’s Music Mill does not receive any regular, ongoing government or granting agency funding for our operations. Our ability to serve the local community depends primarily on donor support.

Donations to Joe’s Music Mill are used to purchase and maintain our instruments. While all donations are deeply appreciated, re-occurring monthly donations help us to plan our operations and services for the upcoming year.

"For the little kids that really don’t have access to music, the Ukulele Jam is their favourite time of the week. We have kids who’ve been coming every week since the start who want to try guitar, keys, ukulele…and this is a place where they can consistently come to make that happen"
Musicians

Making music can support Joe’s Music Mill in its mission! After all, we got a start with a benefit concert including now legendary Kingston musicians.

Studies clearly point to the significant value that learning to play a musical instrument has to mental health, cognitive abilities, academic outcomes and social skills for all ages. But the cost of purchasing an instrument can often be a barrier to accessing the enormous benefits of playing music.  Joe’s Music Mill is working to build effective, sustainable and lasting bridges to all communities that can benefit from access to musical instruments.

Behind every successful community building enterprise are those that get together in making the vision real. Long term funding, specific event sponsorships/in-kind donation of services and donations of any size are very valuable to us in fulfilling our mission.

If you would be interested in discussing how we might work together for better outcomes in our community please contact us at: (links to contact info TBD)
